[WEEK2] Che'Ahmad Azhar

The photos above were taken by a Malaysian photography educator Che'Ahmad Azhar, a well known prolific and influential street photographer from my country.
He is best known for his long term project 'Walk of Life' - a documentary of Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of MALAYSIA.

Even though Che'Ahmad Azhar's works are in black and white colours, it shows more impact. From his photos,
I can sense the nostalgia by taking the daily life of elderly and also the buildings. Besides, no one has actually look at the camera or pose for the shoot but all the subjects in the photos are still pretty vivid.

Furthermore, Che'Ahmad Azhar's choose to use a small range finder camera to shoot photos instead a DSLR.
"Strangers especially, are easily intimidated if you take their pictures using big cameras. That's why I just opt for a small one,"he said.
I actually agreed with what he said as I'm actually quite afraid when a big camera is suddenly focusing on me.

I like this photo the most from this project. It was just a very nice moment for me.
The birds flew through and Che'Ahmad Azhar was able to capture it.
“Many will look at the screen immediately and that’s when they miss the moments in front of them,” - Che'Ahmad Azhar

Che' Ahmad Azhar said that he will not just looking at the photos after shooting it because as a street photography, everything is about moments.
