To capture a beautiful still life image is always a challenge.
It is not an easy task in photography.
Today,
I'm going to introduce a New York-based product and still life photographer, Sam Kaplan.
His still life photographs are really a powerful form of art and all his works are being utilised in different purposes especially in the advertising word.
Sam Kaplan's caption always comes with a word, "Simplicity".
"Having unlimited anything sometimes kills the creativity," he notes.
Therefore,
Sam Kaplan always put only a few and repeated objects in his photographs.
All the objects are really ordinary but Sam Kaplan is able to create something extraordinary and provokes thoughts from the ordinary.
It is really creative.
For Sam Kaplan, troubleshooting is half the fun.
All the objects are being neatly placed together to form a composition and he enjoyed having the freedom to make small adjustments and observe what difference it makes.
“With every shoot there are definite limitations, whether imposed by the layout, the product, or the time constraint. So you always have to find ways to perform within those parameters. But then again, that’s what keeps the job exciting.”
Sam Kaplan really enjoyed shooting photographs.
I was inspired by his works.
I think it is really helpful for me to create my own graphic and advertising works.
