[WEEK12] S.I.P.F

Singapore International Photography Festival
Location Visited: DECK (near Lasalle), National Museum of Singapore and Sculpture Square (beside Nafa).

Throughout the 3 location that we have visited,
I realised that the curators have grouped the photographs into a theme.
DECK has a theme about the environment, architectures and also society photography.
Photographs in National Museum of Singapore are more to portraiture and photojournalistic photography. There is also a series of photographs which is only in black&white.
And last, photographs in Sculpture Square are all documentaries.
All of the photographs are presented in different ways.
Some of the photographs are mounted on forex, some are in thin frame and some is not in frame.
They are all in different sizes too.

For me, the photographs in National Museum of Singapore are more interesting especially the work 'Trace of Time' by Carrie Lam. The photographs are about Carrie Lam revisited the places that her mother had set foot on 33years earlier and envisioned how she must have felt in that exact intersections of time and space.

From her photographs,
I felt so much memories are going on in it.
I can feel their mother-daughter relationship is getting closer.
It was heartwarming for me.
Besides, I could also strongly feel the passing of time by observing the environment, architecture and comparing it with the past and present.

Besides, there are some photos that show the topic of work or leisure.
For instance, the work 'Coastline' by Zhang Xiao is about leisure.
'Show me the money' by Rony Zakaria is also another kind of leisure.

Overall, I have really enjoyed the exhibition.
I think it has open my point of view by seeing all the photographs from different country.
It is definitely a great exhibition and I would like to visit again after the end of semester.
